  1. A blind spot is an area where the optic nerve
  2. and blood vessels pass through the retina of
  3. the eye. No visual image can be formed as 
  4. there are no light-sensitive cells in this
  5. part of the retina. Thus the organism is 
  6. blind to objects that fall in this part of 
  7. the visual field.
